AIMS International Conference (AIC) 2021 is a strategic collaboration between the Ministry Of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE) and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) with the support of the other AIMS Committee in Malaysia. Asian International Mobility for Students (AIMS) functions as the main network to enhance and broaden cooperation in higher education among participating countries in Asia. AIMS Network helps bring together governments, universities and students, and provides a multilateral framework for intellectual exchange and collaboration in order to improve regional integration and community building. This conference will take place on 17th December 2021 both virtually and physically for the first time ever. The physical conference will take place at the Expo 2020 Dubai UAE. For those who might not know, Expo 2020 Dubai UAE aims to raise global awareness of humanity's concerns. It is the world's largest gathering place and it offers many opportunities for networking and fostering international partnerships. Apart from that, this expo also targets to connect all countries in the globe with innovative and collaborative partnership programmes that will help to develop and promote solutions that improve people's lives while also safeguarding the environment. Since Malaysia will be joining this Expo 2020 Dubai UAE, we would like to take this opportunity to host the AIMS International Conference (AIC) 2021 at the Dubai Expo. This will allow participants to connect and share knowledge regarding issues and challenges that need to be faced by universities in the effort to increase the number of international students in their home country.
The theme entitled ‘Internationalisation of Higher Education Towards Future Talents’ focuses on assembling a congregation of academicians, researchers and students to network and communicate via experiences and research studies on the future of education. This conference will be a platform to share information on the main sectors of the internationalisation of higher education. It will also reflect the practices of higher education now and future teaching, learning, research, appraising the co curricular development, digitalisation governance and transnational education through international lens.
The key objective of AIC 2021 is to build a unity bond to enhance deeper understanding on issues regarding digitalisation, innovation and internationalisation of international programmes in universities. This includes the matter of rebranding the future of international studies to provide a better quality of higher education, innovation in future study methods and the marketability of international graduates and future challenges. Our intention is that the AIC 2021 outcome will lead to significant changes on the number of students with better talent and quality.
This Conference is organised by the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE) along with all AIMS Committee of Malaysia which consists of 10 universities; Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Universiti Malaya (UM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) as the co-organizers for this virtual conference. The International Mobility Collaboration Centre (IMCC) is working as the Secretariat.
